Now in the B42-App: Position-specific training

B42

When Alphonso Davies flies up the entire left wing in inimitable style, he picks up speed – so much so that he would be picked up by radar in a 30-mph zone. Several sprints at up to 36 km/h are his trademark.

When Matthias Ginter has to get into a 1-on-1 with the opponent's target player, Davis' value is only secondary. What counts for him at that moment are strength, stability and agility.

Finally, when Julian Brandt looks at his running distances after the game, he has often reeled off over 12 kilometers.

The difference between the three players: one plays on the wing, the other in defense and the last finally in the center.

That's why it makes perfect sense to take these position-specific requirement profiles into account in the athletic area as well.

That's why we at B42 have now developed training units that are tailored to the individual positions. From now on, you can work on exactly those performance parameters that benefit you and your task on the court.

The broader the athletic base – the higher the performance peak

More than 500 actions such as sprinting, passing, shooting, jumping or changing direction have to be completed by the modern soccer player in a game. Statistics even speak of an increase of over 85% in sprinting performance over the last ten years. What you need as a soccer player to be fast and explosively resilient?

A basic foundation of athleticism – that's exactly what you'll work on with the B42 training app. The broader your athletic foundation, the higher your performance peak can be set later.

But it's not just your speed that benefits from – literally – "strong" athletics.

More strength enables you to have a more stable basic position in aerial fights or ground duels, less susceptibility to injuries and minimizes the negative effects of muscular imbalances.

Something that every player needs to be successful – whether striker, defender or midfielder.

Keeping the specificity of the position in mind

After an eminently important athletic base, positional training will become your personal X-factor.

In soccer, requirement profiles of players and opponents are mirrored: The central midfielder also duels with a center player. The outfield player constantly has to deal with the opposing outfield player. Only the different position of defender and striker meet each other – but (of course depending on the playing system) they are often similar in their performance values. Exceptions are of course switching teams, which act with a "false nine" so that they can play the free spaces with power and speed.

If you improve as a central midfielder in terms of running performance – which is an important component in this position – a window opens up for you in the game as well, how you can be superior to your opponent.
